Description
BM0506 Algar Class O Data Cable Basket Tray Matting 50mm Wide X 6mm Deep (30m Roll)
Algar Data Cable Matting cushions and protects cables in awkward or irregular areas and also protects against possible cable corrosion from water and dust.
Algar Basket and Floor cable matting is a lightweight, and flexible synthetic foamed Nitrile rubber, with a fine closed-cell structure. The mat serves as an ideal solution for protection and insulation of Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a data cables laid either in cable basket or directly onto the floor (or underfloor) absorbing any surface irregularities present in the baskets, and sub-floor concrete, or timber floors. Algar Mat is designed to provide a thermal and moisture-resistant barrier, optimising building regulation standards, and contributes to energy efficiency with regards to cold reduction and heat loss.

FAQs
FAQs
Q: Why do I need data cable mat?
A: To protect the cables from irregular underfloor surfaces and dampness or being compressed within the cable basket which can cause performance degradation
Q: Class O or Class 1 LSOH
A: Class 1 is the best rating for Spread of Flame as part of BS476 Part 7, and is often the requirement of materials in all types of construction, LSOH is specified in RN Type 45 Destroyers, US Navy Submarines, Bombardier trains and buildings such as Stadia, Offices and HMO. LSOH therefore clearly has the benefit over Class O of lower smoke and toxicity with zero Halogen. However, Class O meets BS476 Part 7 and additional tests related to heat propagation to BS476 Part 6. To achieve this standard Class O has added Halogens, which LSOH mat does not have, so may be used where higher standards of fire performance is required such as care homes, educational establishments, hospitals etc.
Q: What thickness should I use
A: 6mm is generally used in cable basket, 13mm is usually used on sub-surface floor, 25mm is also available
Q: How do I join mat together or secure to the floor
A: Use our Floor Matting tape to join lengths and on edges to secure to the floor
Q: What if I have to lay cables over other cables or pipes
A: Use our half round bridges under the mat to install over the cables/pipes
