Product Highlight
CMW Ltd offers the complete range of fibre optic connectors on our Telecordia grade factory-terminated cables, from single-fibre patch cords/jumpers to Multi-fibre assemblies/jumpers.
As a leading supplier of high-quality cable assemblies, we only use state of the art manufacturers with processes that meet and ensure the best connector performance that exceeds all industry standards for reflectance/Return Loss (RL) and insertion loss (IL).
The highly trained and qualified termination assistants follow controlled and monitored processes on all assemblies, tested to industry or customer standards at the final stage. This assembly and polishing process guarantees the same outstanding quality in every connector.

FAQs
Q&As
Q: What is the difference between SM and MM fibres?
A: The main difference between SM and MM fibres is the core size, SM has a 9um core and MM has 62.5um or 50um core size?
Q: What is the difference between G652D and G657A1/A2/B2/B3 fibres?
A: SM G652D fibres are traditionally used for long haul connectivity and are entirely backwards compatible with G657 fibre types. The new Bend insensitive G657 fibres are optimized for use at the customer premise, in the cabinets or splice enclosures due to the increased capacities and higher fibre counts required for modern networks
Q: What is the cable length of a 1mtr cable?
A: The total length of all assemblies includes the connectors; therefore the length is 1mtr from ferrule tip to ferrule tip +/- 50mm tolerance.
Q: What is the maximum pulling force when installing the cable?
A: The maximum force is between 70N-100N, depending on the fibre optic connector and cable diameter size used?
Q: Why does the cable diameter influence the cable pull force?
A: The cable pull force is higher on larger diameter cables, due to the number of Aramid/kevlar bundles increasing in 3.0mm patch cords.
Q: Do I need to test the jumpers/patch-cords?
A: We recommend that you always inspect and test any patchcord, before connecting to your network. All our cables are factory tested for SM IL & RL and end-face inspection to the relevant industry standards.
Q: What is the maximum crush resistance of the patch cords?
A: The maximum crush resistance depends on the patch cords diameter- 2.0mm = crush resistance of 500N/100mm for short term and 100N/100mm for long term.
Q: Are the patch cords compatible with various modules or SFP?
A: Yes, all LC connectors are compatible with SFP, SFP+ (BIDI SFP+) and XFP's. All SC connectors are compatible with BIDI SFP, GBIC, X2 and XENPAK
Q: Why is Singlemode cable yellow?
A: Multimode fibres initially were standardized by cable jacket colour, the old standards were Beige or Grey Jacket for OM1 62.5/125um and Orange for OM2 50/125 fibre types. Although today you can be supplied Orange cable jacket for both OM1 & OM2 fibre types. (OM1 & OM2 can support speeds from 1Gbps to 10Gbps over a short distance). The evolution of networks and data demands mean we now have new 50/125 Multimode cable types, OM3 colour of Jacket Aqua, OM4 colour of Jacket Heather/Violet and OM5 Lime Green. OM3 and OM4 fibres have been optimized for higher speeds over longer distance to support data rates from 1Gbps to 100Gbps. OM5 is for future networks of 100Gbps and beyond, optimized for CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Divisional Multiplexing) of 4 channels per Multimode fibre core.
