The Requirement
Thames Ditton primary school ensure that their children flourish with curiosity and a zest for learning, along with growth mindsets to confidently progress through their academic journey. To provide a learning environment to assist each child to experience the best possible learning environment the school urgently needed to address the existing wireless networking system which was no longer functioning to its full capacity.
The Right Product
The school urgently needed their Wi-Fi to be up and running at its full potential for the start of the new academic year. They wanted to be able to use their tablets, laptops and other wireless devices to access school and internet resources speedily and reliably. The main requirement was for a high performing solution that could be easily managed remotely, as the IT support team were located off site. The EnGenius WLAN solution met the school’s budget and crucially its performance met all the requirements that had been specified by the school.
The IT team would also need to control other sites at some point in the future. The Free cloud management accessed via a single pain for ease of use, with no licencing costs would easily make this possible as well as catering for an unlimited number of AP’s/clients. The EnGenius portfolio of networking solutions includes a comprehensive range of Cloud managed and On Premise managed wireless solutions as well as Cloud managed Gigabit, 2.5Gigabit and 10Gigabit switches that deliver long-range connectivity and robust feature sets.
Design and Installation
A total of 17 Wi-Fi Cloud managed access points were installed throughout the school premises. Taking advantage of the existing positions of the old system helped to keep costs down, with only a few new additional access point locations needing to be cabled. This made for a quick installation which was further enhanced by the configuration via the AI Cloud portal before the access points were delivered to the school.
These APs deliver exceptionally fast 867Mbps speeds and higher user capacity. They supercharge the performance up to 30% faster than traditional APs. These dual-band APs improve connection reliability for exceptional next generation, business-class Wi-Fi.
The Result
The school is now able to offer each of its teachers and year groups access to a quick, reliable Wi-Fi which has helped to deliver the curriculum efficiently, giving each child the opportunity to maximise their learning opportunities.
