Features of Conlok

Conlok is a galvanised conduit system including steel conduit tube, malleable iron bends, couplers, boxes, and adaptors.

Galvanised material: Conlok accessories are manufactured from malleable iron with a hot dip galvanised finish, with Conlok Class 4 steel conduit tube manufactured from steel. Providing highly anti-corrosive properties and ensuring a long lifespan.

The galvanisation process involves coating the iron or steel with a layer of zinc, forming a protective barrier against moisture, chemicals, and other corrosive substances, therefore protecting the cable management system inside. With no threaded spouts, Conlok is also the only fully galvanised system available on the market.

A range of sizes available: Conlok is available in 20mm and 25mm diameters, to accommodate different cable sizes and types.

Easy to install: Conlok is designed for the Contractor. A fast-fix steel conduit system designed to significantly reduce installation times and increase on-site safety Conlok removes the need to thread conduit tube with a unique built-in grub screw made from 12.9 Grade steel. Steel conduit lengths are simply inserted into the spouts and held in place by tightening the grub screw, with all earthing requirements catered for in line with BSEN61386-21:2021+A11:2021.

High durability: Conlok is a durable and long-lasting cable management system, thanks to its high-quality materials and construction, all in line to both BSEN61386-21:2021+A11:2021, and BSEN61386-1:2008+A1:2019.

Data Centres, Clean Rooms, High Hygiene Areas: With a dedicated Clean Room option available, Conlok is also an ideal, fast-fix solution for installations within environments where air cleanliness is critical.

How to Install Conlok

Preparation of materials and tools: Before installing Conlok, it is important to gather all the necessary materials and tools, including conduit pipes, fittings, a pipe cutter, a measuring tape, and a screwdriver or drill.

Measuring and cutting the conduit: The conduit tube should be measured and cut to the required length using a dedicated cutter. The ends of the tube should be deburred and smoothed to ensure a proper fit and prevent cables being stripped of their protective coating during the wiring process.

Assembly and connection of fittings: There is no need to thread the conduit lengths with Conlok’s unique built-in grub screw. Simply insert the tube length into the desired Conlok box or accessory and secure the grub screw with an Allen key.

Finishing touches and testing: After the conduit system is installed, the system should be tested to ensure that it is functioning properly and safely.

Maintenance of Conlok

Inspection and cleaning: Conlok should be inspected and cleaned regularly to ensure that it is functioning properly and is free from damage or debris. Any debris or blockages should be removed, and any damaged parts should be repaired or replaced as necessary.

Repair and replacement of damaged parts: If any part of the Conlok system is damaged, it should be repaired or replaced immediately to prevent any potential safety hazards or issues. Conlok is supported however by an extended 7-year warranty when used as a complete system.

Upgrades and modifications: Conlok can be easily modified or upgraded to accommodate changing needs or requirements. For example, additional conduit pipes or fittings can be added, or the system can be reconfigured to accommodate new cable types or sizes.

Safety precautions: When installing or maintaining Conlok, it is important to take appropriate safety precautions, such as wearing protective gear and following all instructions and guidelines provided by Metpro.
